Seriously, this is one of those ones where I don’t understand the politicians or the people.

If he had just had an affair and did a mea culpa, I think this would have likely gone away. But having an affair while AWOL - and having allegations of it being on the government dime… I just don’t get it.

People push the self destruct button for many reasons, but if he were truly doing that, why not resign?

It just makes no sense.

I suppose that Charles’ assertion that Sanford honestly believes that he is subject to different rules. It’s a good thing that megalomania like this got caught before he reached any higher office.
