For supposedly compassionate and caring Christian folk, they sure are bloodthirsty.

Regardless of religion, people are bloodthirsty. All the main religions repeatedly fail when it comes to promoting peace. Catholics and Protestants have been at each other’s throats for centuries, ever since Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses to the door, and then Henry VIII wanted to change wives. Of course, in Asia, the Hindus and the Muslims have slaughtered each other. Violence and cruelty seem to be basic tools in the human arsenal to deal with any concept we find disagreeable.
