Basically, they’re going to give Trump the Nixon treatment: “He was a good man, he did a lot of good things, but he fucked up in the end and we had to break ties with him.” I’ve grown up listening to more than one Repub state that Nixon’s only crime was “getting caught” and so it will go with Trump. They’ll insist that anything he did that falls under the category of “illegal/unethical” was “no different” from what Dems have done in the past and so his only crime was “getting caught.”

So admitting he was a criminal
Just an incompetent one
