I hate to sound like I am going to attack my generation here but the mindset many under 30’s have “I’m not going to get sick so why get insured” is unbelievably stupid. Many people with my condition only get it discovered post-mardem when it’s way too late. Hell, I don’t know how long it would have gone undiscovered in me if I hadn’t wanted to go out for the football team and I got a cardiologist look at me since murmurs run in my family.

All teens think they’re immortal, it comes with the territory. “That’s something old people have to worry about.” Then you wake up one day, you’re 30 with no health insurance and pissing blood. And what does the doctor say? “This has actually been developing for some time, I’m surprised you didn’t show symptoms before now.” But yet, you did, you just brushed them off as “not getting enough sleep” or “partying too hard.”
