Indeed, though part of me feels sympathy for fans who’ve stuck with the franchise for years who just got told that the Expanded Universe, all the novels and books they’d grown up with in the drought between films, have now been rendered non-canon. Reminds me too much of how Paramount and Roddenberry pulled the same shit when production began on ST: The Next Generation.

IKR, but like all religion, it needs to be updated to make it relevant.
If it’s good, they’ll adapt.
