Regarding the Las Vegas incident. I didn’t think a bump stock would work with a tripod, too much added mass to get enough recoil to move the gun and reset the trigger. Is there any news that Paddock had modified the guns for full auto (meaning receivers, sears and trigger groups) or did he really just use bump stocks to get the same effect?

Either way they’re a horribly irresponsible product and there’s no reason for them to be legal. I’d wondered how long it would be before one was used in a mass shooting incident, and Las Vegas just proved their capacity to maximize carnage.
