RT from Iran: People got skin burns from whatever it was pouring from copters in the streets..

Some types of riot gas (notably CS and Oloresin Capsicum) can cause skin irritation/burns (they’re actually particulate smokes dispersed by burning, hence the term “Pepper Fog” for OC). If it came down in liquid form, it would be more likely to be an actual vesicant agent, intended specifically to burn.

/The latter would represent a very serious escalation, as such agents can be lethal if inhaled.

I say hold off on further speculation until more data is available.
