The problem is that last time I checked neither Blacks nor Whites are especially in danger getting slammed by the public as a whole.

Muslims at the moment however are getting the short end of the stick in America today like precious few groups ever had and so we should not be giving public voice all but baseless concerns about them, since it helps legitimize hatred and fear.

Now I guess I have to stick up for Williams. He didn’t slam Muslims as a whole, he said that those who dress in muslim garb and identify first as muslims are the ones who scare him. No, I don’t have the full quotes, they’ve been beaten to death.

He said something stupid, yup he did, and I have to take NPR’s word that it was an offense worth firing over…that part I do not care about.

What is the truth though? Really? What if a British citizen had said the same thing about an Irish citizen back in the ‘70’s?

Look, we are not at war with Islam, but there are many, many ‘islamists’ at war with us.

I can’t find the direct quotes, but the leaders in SOmalia were using the term ‘islamist’ to describe what we in the west call “Al-Queda Millitants”, those leaders were calling for help from the UN, the quotes were all over the BBC radio over the weekend.

The dialouge shouldn’t be about whether Williams is a bigot or not, that’s deflection from the real truth, that there are millions (1% radicalized is 10 million) of people who hate the lifestyle of America and have killed many innocent people for that reason alone.
