At 40, your warrantee expires. Then your eyes start failing (presbyopia), as well as your joints and the rest of you. At this point, you’re trying to keep things healthy.

re: #152 Eclectic Cyborg

I’m 40. Over the past few months I’ve noticed I can’t do some things quite as quickly as I used to be able to do and often need a slightly longer recovery time.

Last night I saw a social media post from a 38 year-old friend of mine who was complaining about his chronic foot pain and wishing he had his mobility back.

And it made me realize how lucky I am to still have my full mobility, never mind how long it takes me to do things.

(not bragging)
at 64 i still run marathons.
lucky in a lot of ways - i’ve never had knee, hip or other mechanical issues.
a constant theme is ‘adjustment’
to abilities, circumstances, conditions, and realistic goals
