“Up” as far as I’m concerned. A lot of people thought that it was the worst show of the whole series.

A lot of people complained that the episode was trying to explain the whole “mystery” as some new age mystical stuff.

That’s not the point. For these people, about 2500 years ago, coming upon that island, it WAS MYSTICAL. The episode was not trying to explain anything from a contemporary point of view.

2500 years later, when Dharma was investigating the Island, what do we find, a lot of science. They were scientifically looking into the mysteries.

And the episode told us so much. The origin of the conflict between Jacob and the MIB, how the rules work (he who is in charge makes up the rules), the origins of the two bodies in the cave, the constant black and white themes, the “game” playing nature of the characters, the fact that what is on the Island, men have and want more of (power?), the fact that Jacob can’t lie, I could go on and on…

It was a very revealing episode, framed with in the mindset of the people of that time.
