The entire discussion is moot as long as the two major parties have a stranglehold on electoral law. As it stands now, it’s very difficult for a third party to even get on the ballot, much less at a truly competitive level.

I think, if anything, both our political parties should be primarily described as “corporativist”. There are differences beyond that - but I see little that is going to budge things off that core given how our political system works and is funded.
