Another version of the PhD acronym is ‘Piled high and Deep’. PhD’s come in many flavors many of which can’t find their ass with both hands.

There’s been a fun segment on one of the podcasts I listen to (Kermode and Mayo—BBC) where listeners submit their absurd PhD dissertation titles with translation. I can’t remember exact titles but the summaries are like “a longitudinal study that proved children tend to choose toys that they like”; I appreciate the self-deprecation many show. It’s in short supply in academe.
