As for stumping Barry, I didn’t say that Joe was bright - rather, Barry can’t think on his feet. Put Joe up against anyone with a good brain, and you could expect he’d get the worst of it.

Israel is the reason I started coming here in the first place.

Say what you want about Obama, but he is a smart man. He could have torn into Joe and humiliated him, but since the cameras were rolling and he had just spent 9 months on the road campaigning he knew better, so he just stayed quiet. He made the smarter move.
