This is really a fallacy. When a person like Beck goes out of his way to make such ludicrous statements, you can’t trust anything he’s saying even if he appears to be on your side. His whole schtick amounts to scare tactics and if someone has to frighten you into believing their ideology, there’s something terribly wrong with it.

I disagree, I have heard him mock himself about his conspiracy mindedness (hasn’t stopped him though). But the fact is he is for personal freedom and responsibility. He chooses to exercise that in his own strange way, but he would never deny you your freedoms. That is something one can easily see.

His stories should be questioned, they are often questionable or ludicrous, obviously. That doesn’t mean he works to deny freedom. Other bloviators like Olberman are always pushing for more Government to regulate our lives. Those are the ones that really worry me. Implementation of their ideas always leads to less freedom. Beck doesn’t do that.

To me that is his silver lining.
