Ah now THAT makes some sense. Zombie is in a state of panic and vigilance, she hasn’t sanely adjusted to a life of safety.

Of course the problem isn’t really that humanity CAN’T handle safety, it can’t possibly be a coincidence that the majority of wingnuts are extreme religious nuts. They mostly believe that God will send everyone who thinks the wrong thoughts to hell to be tortured for eternity. That’s not safety from a psychological point of view, that’s actually a source of stress so great that most of them have broken down and lost sanity as they got older and become bigoted, paranoid messes.
