I learned cursive, and then had to unlearn it when I took a surveying class. It was in the engineering department and apparently engineers print, by god. My handwriting now (45 years later) is a weird hash of sort of connected printed letters. Except my signature. That is cursive.
When I took the GRE, they made me copy the paragraph stating the rules in cursive before I could take the test. I was 35, and hadn’t written cursive in 16 years. It took me about 15 minutes to copy a ten line set of instructions.
