There is a real reason for anyone with an unusual condition or expensive treatment to be concerned with a move toward a national heath program.
Expensive drugs help pay for research; if the government health care bureaucracy says they are too expensive, they will be phased out for possibly less effective treatments, and less research. The way this happens is clear from looking at national health care programs in other countries. This will affect some people like my daughter, who needs an unusual drug that costs $900 a month to continue breathing. It’s not surprising that people get upset at this prospect.

You may know this, but in Oregon, a woman who needed a cancer drug was denied it by their system. They offered her, instead, suicide assistance. The (EVIL) drug company found out about her case, and gave her the drug free of charge.

This is a real concern, for real reasons.
