The amazingly wonderful Dutch skimmers would not have performed miracles.
Some oil was going to reach the shore. Period.
It’s actually an amazingly small amount that’s reaching the shore. We don’t like what’s here, and would like to see it gone, and it’s catastrophic as it is, but it could be a lot worse. But it isn’t, because a lot of good people are working their butts off in less than pleasant working conditions to make sure it’s doesn’t get as bad as it could be.

The Gulf Coast situation would not miraculously have been reduced to nothing if the Dutch skimmers had been here.

It is silly, IMO, to keep harping on the Dutch skimmers! Esp. when I’ve just given you information showing how much activity is going on.
