Clarification before I go: There are left-of-center parties that can govern effectively, but ‘Green’ parties seldom qualify. They focus too much on symbolism and purity and not enough on effectiveness.

So, just like the GOP? Symbolism, check. Purity, check. Effectiveness (lack thereof), check check check.
