Holy Crap.

60 Minutes is doing a story about how grateful the Ugandans are to President George W. Bush for all of the help with the AIDS assistance.

I am still very proud of him for what he did for the African continent. More than any President has ever done for the African people. We can’t afford it… I am glad we are doing it anyway.

But I am sure someone can tell me he did it for less than noble reasons.

If I was a more cynical person I might complain about the programs focus on abstinence in a country where there are statistically almost no 14 year old virgins. No one can complain about the educational aspects though, at least they tried very hard to educate people as to what AIDs was and how it spread.

Anything that reduces the belief in the witch doctor “cures,” and the belief that sex with a virgin will cure you that has led to a lot of rapes of underage girls is a good thing.
