Have you visited the Corps of Engineers model of the Mississippi at Vicksburg?
It should be interesting—they’re modeling the changes they’re planning for NOLA protection.

At one of the museums here, they used to have a several-layered and colored plexiglass model of the Mississippi, showing all of the course changes it has made over time. THAT was really interesting, I looked at it every time I went to that museum. But it’s gone now, and I don’t know what happened to it.
