I have a couple of siblings who rejected all of my parents values (at least for a while).

We tried to show them more love. (While, simultaneously, trying to learn how not to enable addicts.)

If by “more love” I do hope you don’t mean more abuse, violence, threats of estrangement, and forced conformity to narrow, exclusionary social norms.

Because that is all conservative Christian shove “love” is. There is nothing more to it than that. Conservative Christians are addicted to it.
