What difference does it make that a deeply red red state like Texas has voted for a Rightwing nut? Did Hutchison break ranks with other Republican Senators on key votes? From what I recall, she voted lockstep with other Republicans in blocking President Obama’s agenda (or trying to block it), so I’m not sure why Cruz’ election will be worse. I would be more upset if Cruz won in a Blue state and took over a seat previously held by a Democrat.

Hutchison was sane and really moderate for the current GOP. Cruz is a mouth-frothing loony who will make Rand Paul look like a true statesman. That’s the problem.
