My eye caught the name ‘Piccard’ and I wondered, “Did Roddenberry use these people as inspiration for the Captain of the Enterprise E?”

It does make you wonder. I’ve always found deep sea exploration fascinating. That’s something I’d like us to consider exploring like what we did with Space in the 60’s.
