I guess you’re right, no one noticed what the image was.

The first time I read about someone noticing the image was at least a day after the ad had been all over the airwaves here. I must have seen the ad at least 5 or 6 times by that point and it certainly didn’t jump out at me (and I’ve been to that area of Manhattan a number of times in the 90’s). I’d guess Brown’s opposition research team didn’t notice it either based on the time it took for it to hit the blogs (and then the media).
