I dunno, I don’t think Michelle Obama is mad at George W. Bush in that photo. I don’t think he’s one of her favorite people, but he’s always treated her and her husband with respect. Plus he DID show up in Selma, so that’s a point in his favor.

Though that might be a small part of why other Republicans skipped the event, since GWB is still politically radioactive.

Republicans skipped it so their constituents would not think they are soft on race.
