Yep, bullshit, and yes, hilarious. Esp. when McCain doubted it, because Cruz’s NBC status is pretty straightforward acc. to the modern understanding of the law (albeit, as Laurence Tribe pointed out, that might be a tough pill to swallow for a “constitutional originalist”, who would rather go with the thinking espoused in this WaPo piece), while McCain’s isn’t due to an obscure technicality about the status of children born on certain territories in a certain timeframe.
