Thanks for all the advice earlier, went and got some flonase and a thing of simply saline. Already took my 12 hour hit of afrin so once that wears off I will try the flonase.

I believe you can go ahead and take the Flonase now (before the Afrin starts to wear off). That should help prevent the rebound effect and will make it easier to get the Flonase to all the places it needs to go (because you aren’t trying to breath the Flonase through a stuffed up nose).

If you generally struggle with being congested by mucus, you might also try a Neti Pot. It pumps way more saline fluid through than just a saline spray. It takes a little getting used to, and some people find it too uncomfortable to keep at it, although I find it pleasant.
