I think it’s odd that the left doesn’t think of Stewart as a traitor.
It’s one thing to represent the oppressed, but not only to be sympathetic to, but collude, with criminals like that is reprehensible for a member of the bar sworn to uphold the Constitution—all of it.
If you think back to the Bush era of Stewart’s case many were embracing radical ideas and heroes in response to having a Republican in the White house at a time of crisis. People did a lot of stupid things. 9-11 truth, Ward Churchill, George Galloway, Robert Fisk, volunteering as a human shield for Saddam, questioning the timing behind every terror attack, etc. A lot of people were nutty back then and they weren’t cured. They’ll be nutty again in the near future.
