I could swear I remember hearing it before the invasion, when some of the RW talking heads were saying that Saddam would move his WMD’s to Syria in order to dupe UN weapons inspectors. But it was so long ago, it’s possible I’ve gotten the time frame confused.

That may be, but what I remember was people saying the UN Inspectors were SO DUMB for not finding anything that they couldn’t find their own ass with both hands, and we’d be stumbling over the damned things when we went in. It was only later, when we found NO EVIDENCE that the ‘They were trucked to Syria!!’ talking point became prevalent.

Oh, and then we’d find something that had been buried in Gulf War I, which nobody had any idea was there, and you’d hear, “YOU SEE!!! HE DID HAVE WMDS!!! BET YOU FEEL STUPID NOW!!!!
