I had no idea there was such a thing as a “tortilla press” and they are oh so pricey!

All these years I’ve been making my corn tortillas by flattening out the ball of masa dough in my hands and slapping it in the skillet or on the grill and calling it a ‘tilla.

who knew?

I smush mine with a dinner plate. the edging on the plate makes them a consistent and perfect thickness. Cost me $1.
