This is all perfectly consistent. Republicans are completely indifferent as to whether a statement really is true or false. All that matters is political utility. So everything said by a Republican is true by definition and everything said by Democrats is false, again by definition.

2 + 2 = 5 will come in due course.

This is, in fact, the definition of ‘Bullshit’.

Interestingly, this fact allows people to claim that Trump doesn’t lie, because he either doesn’t know or doesn’t care that what he’s saying isn’t true, whereas a liar knows the truth and wants to convince you of the opposite.

In the end, bullshit is far more dangerous than simple lying because it is undoing the general agreement on reality itself.
