Terrific point! And your rant reinforces my rant. The politicians aren’t even honest enough to call ‘national health insurance’ by your much more accurate term ‘universal coverage’.

Your point: Coverage and cost is exactly the same for everyone, regardless of risk. And rates can no longer be controlled through risk mitigation or provider incentives; coverage is mandated through a process driven by politics rather than actuarial data.

Seems right on to me. And we see the results in Canada and Britain.

Last night, I was talking to a mental health counselor, and he is so fed up with the insurance companies telling him and the doctors what they can and cannot do, that he actually thinks the government will be better. I tried to convince him, but he said its so bad it can’t get worse.
Boy, will he be surprised.
