re: #176 Bill and Opus for 2016!

The great unanswered (and so far, unasked by major media) question behind all of this is whether the Donald Trump campaign had any prior knowledge of the planned hack of the DNC emails, and if so, what level of complicity he provided. If he knew, and as a result, was somehow involved in the silencing of Sheremet - who would appear to have had some major dirt on Manafort - I shudder to think what he would attempt on the domestic front.
Personally, I don’t think that the RNC itself would be involved in something like this, because there are still people within the party structure who well remember how badly the Watergate break-in (and subsequent coverup) damaged them - and it isn’t a stretch at all to label this as a modern-day version of that infamous event.

I think it’s much worse than that. If it can be definitively proven that Trump or Manafort had knowledge of Russian intervention in the election, and then subsequently pushed to change the GOP policy vis a vis Russia and Ukraine, I think that would fit the constitutional definition of treason: adhering to and giving aid and comfort to our enemies.
