Is it? If you believe that God is omniscient, knowing everything that will ever happen, and omnipotent, having absolute control over everything that happens, doesn’t that necessarily mean that God is ultimately responsible for everything?
God is only ever responsible for the things we want him to be responsible for.
An omniscient and omnipotent god does, by definition, have ultimate responsibility for everything. Unfortunately, this means that god is also responsible for all evil in the world, and most religious people don’t like having to process the idea that evil happens because god allows it to happen. So they usually argue along the lines that god is responsible for all good in the world, and all evil in the world happens because of the folly of man something something something free will.
Epicurus still rings true today, though most are loathe to admit it.
