I still remember Sarah Palin mocking the study of fruit flies in Paris and I had just gotten out of a semester of college biology where we used fruit flies to study Mendellean traits in biology. The whole thing showed me how ignorant Palin really was. But also sad sicne studying traits and genetics is what could end up leading to a cure to her son’s Downs.
