Had an ex-coworker who got into the gold scam and really got screwed when the price collapsed.

My brother is putting money into gold as part of his prepper activities. I’ve pointed out, as recently as Friday, that if the world goes to hell, people aren’t going to be interested in gold, they’re going to be interested in food and tools. (Not that I think the world is going to hell.)

I think he wants my permission to put 10 percent of mom’s money into gold, but I’m fairly dead set against it. I see no reason to do that, it’d make more sense to buy a plow, to be perfectly honest. At least if the world goes to hell, a plow is useful.
