Now, in fairness, the “NAFTA Superhighway” does not exist at present. However, there were noises made for quite some time here to build the TTC (Trans-Texas Corridor) for eventually linking the highways systems between Mexico, the US, and Canada.

TTC turned out to be boondoggle and a nightmare before it ever really got started; way too much cronyism, even by Gov. Perry’s standards, and the environmental impact, not to mention the enormous takings that would be required to build it, ruled it right out.

But a highway linking the three nations is not some fantasy of the fevered minds of the Right; it was planned, and was only recently kiboshed.
