I was just wonder that maybe… we’ve moved past democracy and elections, as we used to have them, and into a new societal mode.

Maybe as a collective we are deciding the elections shouldn’t matter, at least on an individual office basis, even an office as important as POTUS.

I’ve wondered why some Americans get so fascinated with Brit royalty.

Perhaps we deeply long for a national figurehead, as opposed to wonky civil mechanics.

Perhaps America wants Drumpfskind to be that figurehead. Not to have him really change anything, just to be there for show, for our national rituals to which we cling.
