Do you remember his name? Maybe look him up I’m sure he’d love to hear from you after all these years.. I’ve looked at a photo of my grandpa and an Army buddy. And my brothers always wondered what happened to the guy but all there was a surname and the state he was from. No first name, no nothing. Grandpa sometimes talked about taking a trip out west to see some of the guys he served with. He served with a lot of LDS guys. Like you and your comrade, they were very different, Grandpa being a Roman Catholic son of Slovene immigrants in Johnstown, Pa and they being tee-tottling Mormons from out West. He never did it. My great uncle though, my grandma’s brother loved his reunions and went to them until he got sick. If he hadn’t died when I was so young, I would have loved to learn more about his expereinces in WWII.
