The police, no. Ordinary citizens, yes. Basically, they’ll create a private right of action to let anybody sue anybody if they suspect an abortion happened, and there won’t be any provision for the person being sued having to live in the state where the suing is taking place, which is exactly what Texas SB8 does. So it won’t matter if the woman never returns; if she did live in the state at one time, and some citizen suspects she left the state and had an abortion, they can sue.
