One problem with that is some kids will want to see how tough your kids are and try to pick fights.

Could be, and actually I’ve heard from a friend who has two kids who are already black belts (TaeKwonDo) in their ‘tweens that they’ve had some trouble with that. But it doesn’t really bother the kids, because they know that if it comes down to it, they can kick the bully’s ass. They also know to walk away at the right time.
