3.25 PM: I just got briefed a little, in a rare moment of outreach from the White House communications team. Everything is embargoed, so no details. And being briefed about the contents is not the same as listening Obama deliver the case. But sheesh. Get some caffeine ready.

5.35 PM: It turns out I shouldn’t have blogged that I was even briefed about the SOTU. I thought I just had to keep the contents to myself. One thing you learn pretty quickly about this White House: transparency is a theory, not a reality. Just watch it tonight, as I will (I don’t have the text), and make your own mind up, as I will, in real time.

9:00 PM - 10:10 PM: Nothing but complaints. Hates the speech. Hates everything about it. Hates the policy ideas, the rhetoric, they didn’t include what he wanted to hear, everything about it sucks like a Hoover. Not that he’s bitter about getting a phone call over printing something that had been embargoed.
