Ah, the PC version. OK, do this instead - click the little wrench icon at the far right of the top bar, then click “Options” in the menu.

In the window that pops up, check the box labeled “Always show the bookmarks bar”.

Amazing how I loved the bookmarklet, it is really amazing. And to do it manually when I couldn’t anymore was just bleh.
