I don’t know how old you are, I don’t know exactly where you live, I don’t know what circles you run in, but I lived in the New York area for 24 years. The image of those buildings are as much part of my “file” of mental images and the “y” on a New York subway token, as New York pizza, as any cultural meme that I grew up with.

Sorry it says nothing to you. And just because it says nothing to you doesn’t mean it doesn’t say something to a whole lot of people. Seems like you are trying to speak for, and presuppose how everyone else would have reacted to the image.

What makes you the arbiter of what image means what to who?

For the record, I’m 22 and have never been to New York. I recognized the tower. The look of the windows is distinct in my mind for some reason.
