Gotta agree with you. Some of the video and stills look like they’re straight out of a movie.

There’s one showing contrails from the meter streaking through that looks like the ribbon from ST: Generations.

Others look like the opening sequences from Armageddon.

And there’s video showing the smoke and then the repetitive sonic booms as individual bits rain down, along with the shattering of glass and car alarms going off.

Wild stuff.

Can’t wait for the inevitable conspiracies that this is really the first step in a real Armageddon (or Deep Impact since it has an African American president in office when the big one hits). /
