Well as someone who has been to Ireland twice and has ancestral connections to the land, I will be really happy because given the Irish people’s own history of being religiously discriminated against, it’s absurd to use religion as a tool to discriminate against gay people. I think ultimately this will be a YES because Ireland has been growing more socially liberal in recent years.

No matter the result it’s always a little bit troubling seeing an entire people’s basic civil rights and equality officially put in the hands of popular opinion.
