What is the definition? Are there years bracketed? Age groups? Not being snarky, I don’t know the rules.

I usually see the Greatest Generation defined as beginning around 1920ish. Those people would be too young to vote for FDR. I’d say basically anyone born after WWI and who coming of age in the Depression. That said, I’m seeing a definition now that has it as early as 1900. I don’t know. My dad’s parents were born in 1912/13 and Mom’s were 27/29 and I always saw my Dad’s parents as being a different generation than Mom’s since Dad’s parents were married with kids in fact as Mom’s parents were still in elementary school.
