We need to get the poor and disenfranchised together — regardless of their heritage.

Still working on this, because most poor whites see poor blacks and Latinos as their enemies, not their allies, because they’ve been convinced that all the work they do would get them to the top if only the others weren’t in their way. Total myth, but they believe it. And I wonder if anything short of a Great Depression can fix it. (A secret, though: A lot of those poor racist whites - and there are plenty of those in my family - don’t actually work all that hard. They just want what they think is coming to them.)
