Not necessarily. I was never asked if I was gay or straight. Like I said in my post here, I did see a Navigator run out of the Bomb Squadron because he was suspected of being gay. He was. Another officer in the Field Maintenance Squadron was caught in his bread truck with an Airman 1st Class. He was immediately separated from the service. It happened. I never heard of any Queer Hunts, though. There were some Stoner Hunts, however. Four guys in my pilot training class (all USAFA grads), never got their wings because they were caught smoking pot. Everyone in the class was grilled over that one to root out the rest of the “drug addicts”.
